Attempting to fly!

Terry was convinced that with the new modifications he'd get this one off the ground. He'd even provided the pilot with a unique set of ear defenders!

It's not rocket science!

Just been satisfying my need for a retro fix on the web. I found these vintage needle cases made in Japan. Possibly 1960's. The women in the sewing group look amazed "My God! How did you manage to do that?"

Fresh start

I've just deleted all the dross from my blog and now intend to try (he laughs) and post something every day (he laughs again). Not having posted anything for nearly a year, this may be for me, a gargantuan task. I have however been searching through my ephemera and have discovered a few items that might be of interest to some of you. We shall see.......

Children at a puppet show 1963 Paris

I love this picture. All the different expressions and reactions from these kids, especially the little girl with her hands over her ears.

The innocents

I found this image which I think was taken after the end of the Second World War (possibly in Germany) showing two little girls, dirty and dishevelled, sitting amongst the debris, clutching what is left of a rag doll. It made me think that even now nearly 70 years later, children still bear the brunt of man's inhumanity & will ever continue to do so.

Wild flowers

I've just found these photos whilst looking at other blog sites. I love wild flowers and weeds, they are opportunists and born survivors. These pics were taken by Daniela Tangelder and are on her site at: http://myneedleart.blogspot.com/ I might dust off my own camera and get snapping.

Unrequited love

I found this little picture and thought about the times that this has happened to me, only the guy on the left doesn't look dejected enough!

Success (Sound of marching band & crowd cheering)

Having successfully posted my first blog, I now have nothing of world shattering importance to say, so I shall retreat back into my shell and try to think of something profound.
